Goblin Blanket Flower Gaillardia has large flower blooms that cover the plant all summer long. The center of the flower bloom is yellow and extends to a fiery red color. The red extends out towards the petals of the flowers which turn orange and then to yellow. This perennial flower blooms all summer long. Once the blooms are done, they turn to a cotton ball like bud. The cotton balls have small black seeds attached to the bottom of them. The whitetail attached to the seed helps with the distribution of the seed. Wind can carry the seed to help the plant reproduce.
Goblin Blanket Flower Gaillardia has long stems that connect the flowers to the plant. The foliage of this perennial is long and narrow. There are small hairs on the leaves and stems of this plant. In the fall you can cut this perennial plant down to the ground as new growth will emerge in the spring. This plant spreads by its seed distribution, so keep that in mind when you install this perennial in your landscape. You can transplant this perennial if it becomes too large for its growing area. There are many other Gaillardia flowers to choose from, so make sure to check them all out.
